That just conjures up an image of Ralph Nader. Maybe, that's just me. I like Chupacabras or Thunderbirds. Then again, I just don't see the NBA allowing such a name that translates to goat-suckers. If you want my attempt at creativity at a team name with out a plural suffix, I'd say the OKC Wrath (grapes of wrath). Like I said, it was an attempt.
The Boomers is not a bad idea at all. Not only does it coincide nicely with the obvious land rush reference, making the perfect complement to the biggest team in the city, but it also continues the legacy of the Sonics perfectly. Sonics. = Sonic Boom. = Boomers. It would also be a perfect way to stick it to Seattle for being *** hats about the name. Or you could go with the other obvious reference to Thuderstorms, i.e. thunder boomers. And apparently it's not unprecedented:
