This just kills our chance to gain some RPI points. With the loss of A&M there is one less weekend of conference games. That is why we played NO, which had one of the worst rpi's in the country. The conference is going to have to establish a uniform start date so all of the conference series can be played at the end of the seasons. There should be no more "off weeks" late in the year because Auggie doesn't want his kids to play during finals week. That means there are two weekends during the conference season where we have to find somebody to play. Obviously, all the good teams are playing conference games and we have to schedule games against horrible teams. Maybe it will bite Auggie in the *** again this year and keep them out of the tournament. With OU, though, it could keep us from hosting. It would have helped more to play Ark and lose than it does not even play at all.

That's only partly correct. Arkansas' RPI is 60-something right now, losing to them wasn't going to help, but a win probably would have. As does wins by other conference teams.

We didn't even play last night and moved up 2-3 spots in the RPI because the Big 12 went unbeaten in midweek action.

As long as we win the conference and each remaining conference series we'll host. K-State's RPI has crept above ours. That last weekend of conference in Manhattan could be big.
