Hopefully the guys are going to build some momentum towards the final and get a top 3 finish with 2 NC's.

Good guys lose to the Tigers.

    Tigers Down Sooners 17-16

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The No. 10/10 Oklahoma Sooners (8-5-1, 0-3) were defeated by No. 12/14 Missouri Tigers (13-7, 1-2) 17-16 on Sunday afternoon inside the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.

The Sooners dropped their third Big 12 dual of the season, and with the victory Sunday the Tigers have now beaten the Sooners three times in the last four seasons.

“This was a very disappointing loss this afternoon,” said head coach Jack Spates. “We are at a very vulnerable state as a team right now and when we wrestle we need to maximize every match.”

OU scored a major decision by No. 5 Jake Hager as he defeated Sean Connole, 17-3, for the Sooners only bonus points on the day.

The Sooners notched decisions from No. 2 Sam Hazewinkel, No. 2 Teyon Ware, No. 10 Matt Stroniolo and No. 5 Joel Flaggert.

Hazewinkel scored a decision, 11-7, over No. 18 Austin DeVoe in the 125 pound match. Ware defeated Chris McCormick by a decision, 9-5, in the 141 pound match. Storniolo scored a decision, 6-2, over Marcus Hoehn at 149 pounds. Flaggert also scored a decision, 5-4, over No. 15 Jeff Foust in the 197 pound match.

“Wes Roberts wrestled very well today coming off an injury and almost upset the most dominate wrestler in the country,” continued Spates. “We have no excuses right now, the bottom line is we need to go back to work and prepare for Nebraska.”

Next up for the Sooners is a trip to Lincoln, Neb. on Friday to face No. 3/5 Nebraska for a 7 p.m. match at the NU Coliseum.

If we had wrestling, we'd be national champs in that too.

    i'm serious.

    blakely is 2-11 in duals.

he got tech'd against lehigh, and the match ended up 18-18.

    he was major'd again today.

what is the story on joe comparin anyway? i could have sworn i read that he'd be ready a few weeks ago.

that and Hagar was a few points from a tech, you'd think Teyon, Sam Stornolio, or Flaggart could have won by more, Dyer should have won,

hats off to Roberts #12 gave a good showing against #1

    I'm really pretty dissapointed

we are 0-3 in the Big 12.

We're a horrible dual team. In all honesty, more than likely we'll be 0-4 after we wrestle Nebraska.

We'd better have some outstanding tournament after a season like this.

Right now we'll finish high solely on the strength of two key guys...Sam and Teyon. But if they don't make it to the finals, and everyone else finishes according to their projected rankings/seeds, we'll be hurting.

Matt and Joel have great shots at being All-Americans, and if Matt can turn it on he's got a definite shot.

But that's it. I can't see Dyer or Wes getting into those later rounds.

    Vocabulary Nazi. ;)

I hope this bodes well for his future. Maybe he's turning it up and can become the All-American we all hoped he'd be coming out of High School.

Lord knows he's been through enough trials and tribulations. I wonder how good he could have been if injuries hadn't hampered his career?
