Was curious if it was the same format as last year. that pool play crap. It's not.

    PDF File Tourney Bracket

Top 8 are in, double elim from there.

Yep. They finally changed it back to the same format as the CWS.

Good stuff! Of course, at this time, we'd be in Texas's pool, so we'll have to beat either Green or Jungmann to avoid going to the loser's bracket.

    pool play is STUPID !!!!!!
OU & osu had to play a game (maybe 2 yrs ago) that meant nothing.

I liked the "pool" format because each team got to play at least three games, I think it was.

We can beat Cole Green. As a matter of fact, i'll make a guarantee if we face him again, we beat him.

I wouldn't guarantee it, but I agree that it can happen. He wasn't dominant at all, despite what one national writer would have you believe.

So you like each team playing 3 games even when several are meaningless? Give me a true tourney format

Yes. Fans could have the opportunity to watch their team play three times in a two, four team pool format. That's all I'm sayin'.

and absolutely no one cares on that last day for half the games

This will hurt the attendance, especially if OU or OSU have to play all morning or afternoon games.

But there is no question it's a better format overall.

    Pod play = Lame.

Give me a tourny setting EVERY TIME. Take your pool play and cram it, it makes the games mean even more nothing for the better teams.

I love being at the ballpark for a 8:30pm game that doesn't start till 10:30. My only complaint about that is you can't bring enough beer and peanuts for the rooftop seats to last until the game is over.

When you talk to people with the All Sports Assoc. pool play hurt attendance. they Expect a boost with tourny play and lower ticket prices

Pool play didn't hurt anything. OSU not making the tourney hurt attendance.

Yes, I liked it that way so I could see OU play at least 3 games even if the last one meant nothing though it almost always did mean something. Plus, we knew the exact time schedule before the tournament started so I could plan accordingly.

If we take 2 of 3 from Baylor and Pokes lose 1, we get 3rd seed, correct?

Right. We have to match what they do, that's it.
