I tried to get something in Glendale, but since I waited so long, I couldnt find a room. I ended up at the Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix. Anyone else there?

Doesn't really matter there, on Jan 1, no traffic, great wide open freeways. At South Mountain you are a mere 25 minutes from the stadium. As for me, I'm staying in Chandler at my house, which with no traffic, is a good 45 minutes or so. And for anyone else, just stay somewhere with fairly easy access to a nearby freeway. Even if it's a haul like from my house, it's still a very easy drive. Plus, we're all going to be in the area of the stadium by 1 or 2PM anyway right? :pop:

You are better off at the Pointe...there isn't squat in Glendale, and as AZOUFan pointed out, its easy to hop on the freeway and get to the stadium in a short time. The Pointe is closer to Tempe and Scottsdale...much more to do there.

Hopefully it's not too much of a fleabag. At least it's not too far from the stadium.

I had reservations at the Legacy Golf Resort, but canceled them recently. I have a buddy I ran into recently that is selling his unoccupied, but fully furnished, four bedroom four bath home in Glendale. he says you can see the stadium from his home. And its FREE. Amazing deal. We're getting VIP tickets to the "blocK party" New Years Eve, after a round of golf at the Raven South Mountain.

What I need to find is a good pre-party before the game on new years day.

Don't know about the tailgating possibilities before the game, but the Sooners bash thing is lots of fun, if overpriced, on Jan 1. See the thread about OU Club of Arizona...

We are taking the RV.....staying at The Desert Air (believe that is the spelling) RV resort. Kinda hard to find a rv park that will let you stay if you are under 55.:D I asked if they have separate drinking fountains and bathrooms for us folks under 55......didn't go over well...hahaha!!!:D

I have relatives that live in the area....it is a great place!!

See you guys there....we are going to make a few of the Sooner parties!!
