Ryan Schuler Offensive Lineman 6-7, 270, 4.9 Sioux Falls, (Washington) So. Dakota**** Rivals100.com - #14 Offensive Tackle Tom Lemming's Preseason National 100 From SoonersIllustrated.com: Schuler is described as 'one of the most highly recruited football players in South Dakota history' by the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. Schuler was recruited heavily by Colorado and Nebraska and is considered one of the best offensive tackle prospects in the midwest region. Schuler wasn't being recruited heavily by Oklahoma immediately following his junior season. But the Sooners made up major ground after Schuler took an unofficial visit to Norman this summer. The Sooners were simply the best team for Schuler who wants to compete for national championships at this level. This is a good get for Oklahoma as Schuler's stock will likely rise nationally as his senior season progresses. From PrepStar.com: A powerful prep athlete, Ryan bench-presses 365 pounds and squats 450 pounds. Ryan has a 3.5 grade point average. IP: Logged |

Brian Zimpel Offensive Lineman 6-5, 310, 5.3 Broken Arrow, Oklahoma**** Rivals100.com - #9 Offensive Guard Rivals100.com - #48 Midlands Top 100 Rivals100.com - #6 Oklahoma Top 25 From SoonersIllustrated.com: Zimpel is a lifer on the offensive line having played there since he was in the fourth grade. He's had plenty of time to perfect his skills and as a junior drew attention with 28 pancake blocks and numerous decleaters. At 6-5, 310 pounds, he has NFL dimensions and good feet with a 5.1 in the forty. He is strong with a 330 pound bench press max and a 540 pound squat. It wasn't a big surprise when Brian Zimpel committed to Oklahoma. His questionairre arrived in our offices in the spring with several pictures of Zimpel in OU hats. Zimpel is one of the best lineman in the state for 2003 and the Sooners need more quality lineman to replinish the program. This was an important early get for Oklahoma. IP: Logged |

Joe John Finley Athlete 6-6, 220, 4.69 Arlington, Texas*** Rivals100.com - #36 Athlete Rivals100.com - #64 Midlands Top 100 Rivals100.com - #44 Texas Top 100 From Rivals.com: Finley is a star quarterback but his future in college could be at tight end - where a majority of teams are recruiting him for. Finley has been earning all-district honors since his sophomore season. From SoonersIllustrated.com: Finley's brother played at Nebraska and they were the one team which competed with Oklahoma down to the wire. Finley will be open to any position at Oklahoma and his father says he just wanted to play for Bob Stoops and the Sooners no matter where he played. Early speculation is that Finley's height and speed make him a perfect candidate to battle for the starting tight end position following the departure of Trent Smith. "He just wants to be a part of it. He doesn't care. Anyway he can help that football team - he can play a lot of positions and he's played a lot of positions for me. He's a punter, he can kick and he has great hands, good speed and won the regional meet in the high hurdles last year. He's a kid that can do a lot of things. He's very unselfish. You name it, he'll play it," said his father and coach, Mickey Finley. IP: Logged |
