2004 SOONERFANS.COM TAILGATE SCHEDULE!!! The football season is here, and SoonerFans.com will be holding its usual tailgate parties this season. Leslie, Lisa, Phil, and Dean had a high-level mid-August meeting to plan out the season's events, and while they didn't get everything hashed out, they got pretty close. Start times for tailgates will be announced as game times are announced. Road game tailgate details will be announced as they are finalized. We will be tailgating at Baylor and we will not be tailgating at Texas. Everything else is up in the air for road tailgates. We will for sure not tailgate at every road game, and we may not be able to secure a guaranteed spot beforehand at the ones at which we do tailgate. So, some road games may end up with just a start time and a cell phone number to call on game day to find out where the tailgate is located. Please note that we will have Dean's RV at all home games except for Houston, because Dean will be living in the RV while elk hunting that weekend. For the Houston game, there will be additional parking available since the RV won't be there. As is the norm, we will have DirecTV satellite TV at all tailgates, with two TVs with separate receivers at home games to increase the viewing possibilities. We have the ESPN GamePlan, so all televised games will be available during the tailgates. With two TVs, we will likely pick a game at a time to run on one TV (likely whatever Big 12 game is going on at the time) and flip between games on the other. As for food and drink, at all home games there will be free food and drink, including beer. Menu selections have been made, for the most part, and are posted below. At any road tailgates, there will at least be free drinks. Food will be announced on a per-game basis for road games. Donations to the cause will, as always, be cheerfully accepted via the glass milk bottle near the TVs, but are not required. Sometimes, people want to sponsor a whole tailgate, and that's cool, too. Everyone is welcome to bring something to share. The tailgates are open to all, including those who just lurk on the message board or rival fans who frequent the board. Our sole purpose in running the tailgates is just to have a bunch of fun. Many times, the tailgates resume after the games while traffic clears out. As for location, the tailgate spot for all home games will be the same as last season, the front yard of the house located at 1607 Jenkins, on the east side of the street across from the Cross Center dorm. Parking is available directly at the tailgate spot, if you reserve ahead of time and/or get there early enough. There is also some parking right across the street in the parking lot on the east side of Cross Center dorm. Again, arrive early to get it, and if you're lucky, the guy who takes the money won't be there yet and you can park for free. Check the map below for details. Look for C&C Dean's giant fifth wheel trailer with the Boomer Sooner canopy. Here's the tailgate schedule as it currently stands. All tailgates will end one hour before kickoff and will usually resume to a more limited extent after the game. Check back as game times are announced for updates:
