Disc Golf
I have become highly addicted to the sport in the last year and recently played my first tournament. I was just wondering if there were any other SF members out there that like to play. If so, where do you play?

Re: Disc Golf
I was asking where you play disc golf, not where you hang out in your free time. Sorry for the confusion.

I think people play at Will Rogers Park, but that is kinda like the outdoor Habana Inn from what I hear...

Re: Disc Golf
Norman has a national reputation for being a bit of a Mecca in the sport, with the Colonial Estates course being one of the first ever dedicated track in the country, back when we were throwing "Professional" Frisbees the size of trash can lids!
You can't swing a stick without hitting a course here in town.

Re: Disc Golf
Disc Golf is the best: cheap and relaxing and fun.
I'm pretty much a casual-player. The last two summers I played darned-near everyday, and this summer not-so-much.
What's Will Rogers like? I've heard really good things. Down here, I've only played the Colonial Estates course; I've played a few courses in the northeast part of the state (and surrounding communities in NW Arkansas and SW Missouri).

I used to play it way back when it first came out. Can't remember the year, but probably mid-80's? Anyhow, in my little ditty bag where I carried my discs I also carried my stash. The reason stoners dig it over real golf? It's free, you don't have to wear a shirt or shoes, and you can actually see your disc as it flies while you're stoned to the bone.

Re: Disc Golf
And what's wrong with that if it gets 'em off the couch and removes the Doritos from their mouths?

Re: Disc Golf
Pretty organized for a stoner. Did your ditty bag look like SicEm's purse, but with a pot leaf instead of a confederate flag?

Re: Disc Golf
Nah, it was strictly a disc golf ditty bag. Sicem's purse is an every day accessory to his ensemble.

Without it the Scooter becomes impractical.

Re: Disc Golf
I've played Colonial Estates several times. I can't handle any of the tougher courses - I usually land in trees / water. Much like real golf, oddly enough.
