    Thumbs down NCAA "Sub" Divisions?

Anybody have the skinny on this?

    I don't get it. No more D-1, 1-AA? What about D-2, others?

Did some asshat make an organizational chart or something?

They still exist, they just renamed I-AA to "The Football Championship Division" but everyone still calls it I-AA. It was probably some marketing committees recommendation. Division II and III still have the same name.

D-1 has some fancy schmancy new name too. The names are both like "world beaters division" so it's hard to tell. Did East Popcorn State just make the bigs?

The Football Championship Subdivision is the one where they settle the championship on the field without fancy handwringing by sportswriters and computers spitting out numbers, and the Bowl Championship Subdivision is the other one. That you should help you keep them straight.
