well, Kenny was obviously the best OU Fullback to be a handler at UPS.

Where is the love for Leon Perry?

I agree Lydel Carr was the best in the (recent) modern era.

Don't forget McKinley or Kenyon Rasheed as some have mentioned. Gumbo was good too.

J.D. was great in his own right but not the prototypical FB of the earlier OU offense.

Wasn't Rotnie Anderson a decent FB as well?

IMO Leon Crosswhite set the standard for all future wishbone FB's. I just read this thread and was wondering why no one had mentioned him yet.

    Good call.

In college, Kenny King and Stanley Wilson were hard to beat as wishbone fullbacks. I'd say Seth Littrell was the most versitile we've had in the Stoops era though...

OU FAN FOR 45 YEARS/RUFNEK CLASS OF SPRING 76 says:

    1) Kenny King - No doubt could run like a deer and block like a tank

    2) Horace Ivory - great runner/slasher

    3) Mike McKinley - hurt people/very tough

4)Wayman Clark - tough and consistent

5)J.D. Runnels - good player but not the best

Heath: an excellent old school choice for an old school position. Who wouldn't want to run behind a guy called "Mule Train"?

Re: OU's Best Fullback of all time???

i think Stanley Wilson deserves more cred in this thread, though i would not say he was the best ever. Stanley was a tough back. his end was sad, but his legacy as a football player has taken a beating since Boomer Esiasion can't seem to let it lie.

i'd say it's between King and Carr--at the end of the day. Pricer gets a historical nod and since he's from my paternal hometown of Perry, i give a homer hon. mention.

King and Carr or Carr and King.I would rate JD higher IF Bob had let him show off his runnung ability.Wilson is underrated IMHO despite his off-field problems.

    Tie between King and Wilson.

BTW got to meet Stanley at the OB shellacking a few years back, very nice guy, wish him the best.
