So what is the South Oval anyway? I know it's another board on this board. Duh. But - is it, like, you know, someplace on campus or something? I mean, I've been to Oklahoma plenty of times, but I've never been to Norman so I don't know what's going on there on the campus, you know. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, campus is kind of divided into North and South campus. The South Oval is a big lawn with trees and fountains and stuff. I'll see if i can find a picture for you. (there's also a corresponding North Oval, but most of the classes are on/near the South Oval, so the North Oval gets no love)Originally Posted by TigerGirl
Never thought of it like that. I try and offend as many people as possible, but all in good fun. I posted that I was pro abortion there the other day. That was fun for everyone.Originally Posted by OUthunder

Did someone ask about the origin of the phrase "brand new"? The original meaning of "brand" was "burning or fire," including a furnace, forge, or kiln. Something "brand new" was an item, whether pottery or forged metal, fresh from the fires of its creation. The phrase dates back to the late 16th century. Shakespeare used the expression "fire new" to mean the same thing. There.

Cute Bunny Thunder!
I hope this thread lives on - at least until football season starts.
One of my daughter's teammates was injured last Saturday. ACL, MCL and meniscus. MRI showed more damage than the surgeon expected. Sigh! It is going to make it a bit harder for her to get a college scholarship as she will be a Senior next Fall.
this thread will live on longer than any of us...
Its Buster from Arthur. My daughter picked it out. I'll tell her that you approve!Originally Posted by BajaOklahoma

Wow, Baja. That's a really tough break. Rehab is the key, y'know. I'll keep the kid in my prayers.Originally Posted by BajaOklahoma
