I'm in the market for a general purpose knife I can keep in my pocket. Any suggestions.

My husband got the big version of this one recently. He seems to like it.
I've been extra nice to him!!
I have had a couple of the bucklite knives. They are inexpensive and pretty sturdy.
one of those Bear Grylls type knifes, he makes it look pretty general purpose to me

Ya might walk funny, but this one would be cool.
i'd look at a Spyderco Endura or Delica depending on the size you want(Endura is kinda big) these should be in your price range if you look onlineOriginally Posted by royalfan5
also some Wal-Marts carry the Spyderco Native for ~$40 which is also really nice
a lot of the delivery drivers i used to interact with in the kitchen biz were knife nuts. a lot of them had fold out scuba style knives....for cutting open boxes and packaging and such. they were pretty bad ***, no nonsense knives. thin and lightweight but well-made....being the key.

I suggest you get a Case brand pocketknife for daily use. They are well made and a great investment.

Please explain this great investment idea...Originally Posted by salth2o

i don't know why, but i have never liked their knives
lots of people seem to though, especially the Ken Onion stuff
Kershaw makes a hell of a knife.
So does Gerber. I've been cuttin' seatbelts and clothes with one for five years now on the factory edge and it's still sharp enough to shave with.
But I TRULY recommend one of these.
