That TD2K is one smart dame!

She gave me a steer on where to get some brutally 'spensive software for cheap online.

I gotta say, www.studica.com RMFO. I highly recommend them for service and price.

Note: you gotta prove you're enrolled somewhere to buy stuff, but in the case of AutoCAD 2008 and AdobeCS3 Design satndard, I got them for around 20% of MSRP. Plus, no tax and free shipping. w00t!!11!11

Baylor sells all that expensive software dirt cheap. Vista Premium, for example, is 10.00 and Office 07 is 5.00.

I've never had an need to purchase autocad software, but I think it's in the same general price range. I know you can get Photoshop for 25.00.

Be careful if you are using Autocad for professional work. It embeds a non-visible block that prints out "THIS WAS DRAWN USING AN EDUCATIONAL VERSION OF AUTOCAD" (or something to that effect) on every page. It may not do it if you only open it up with the educational version, but if you open up a drawing that was opened in the educational version with the full version, it seems to appear.

We had an acoustic consultant send us his drawings and it embedded that in every sheet that blocks were copy/pasted out of it. We had to use a third party conversion software to get rid of it.

    D00d,

These babies retailed into the several thousands. No school/college gives that kinda stuff away.

That's good, I didn't know about it until we that incident happened. We had to do some searching to figure out what happened and where it had originated. I have never used the educational version, but I have thought about having my sister (a teacher) buy the 3DSMax educational version but not sure if it has a similar watermark.

The list price for the professional version of AutoCAD 2007-2008 is $3,495.00. We have bought 11 copies of 2007 in the past year with legacy upgrades (from 2000i) ranging from $1,200.00 to $2,200.00. Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium retails for $1,800.00 and Standard lists at $1,200.00.You can get the educational pricing from many different outlets, it is something the software companies do to get you hooked.

pirated copies burned by your Uncle Rico and sold from a plastic storage tub in his van don't interest me.
