I agree with the gooners thing and can't stand "UO", but who really cares, let them have their fun.

UO=Oregon. They trademarked it. They may have done that before OU was founded.

We're "OU" because the rest of the schools in the Big 8 put the "U" last. NU, KU, CU, MU, ISU, KSU, OSU. So even though we're the University of Oklahoma, our abbreviation makes it look like "Oklahoma University". Which is the most annoying part to me; whenever anyone says "Oklahoma University", I just stare at them and ask where the hell that is.
