Democrats Looking For Someone To Surrender To

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,253907,00.html
The single mindedness of the Democrats regarding the Iraq war and their determination to withdraw the troops no matter what the cost reminds me of the Mash episode in which the North Korean soldier surrendered to everyone he met. At one point Hawkeye Pierce notes that he hasn't tried to surrender to Colonel Potter's horse, yet.

Well, I think the Democrats are to the point that they would surrender to Colonel Potter's horse.

i must have missed where it pointed out in your article the plans to surrender to everyone.
In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It's in the Democrat's Mission Statement

if it moves, do not offend it, but surrender to it.

if it doesn't move, tax it.

I have surrendered to the wisdom of democrattedeness. I am joining them so I can keep on surrendering....ZOWEE!
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.

We talk about "finishing the job" and not "cutting and running" but I'd like to ask a question. Are you in favor of an open-ended conflict in terms of Iraq? Do you favor any sort of timetable?

I think we should wait until we have a Democrat President before we surrender. That's my timetable.

How bout we finish the job first, then leave?

Unless you really want to see thousands of brown people get killed without anyone to help them.

Do you think the job can be "finished"?

    In Iraq, Yes, I do.

And so do most military people.

If I didn't think that, I would want our men and women out of there ASAP.

But we need to be MORE aggresive, not trying to strip our troops of the tools and ROE's they need to win, as the dims would have us do.

I'm not a fan of the war by anymeans, but we're there now and the US has to do everything it can possibly do in order to win. We can't afford a loss of face in the region, the effects would be devastating.

If we have to mobilize the entire damned country and send every man, woman, and child over there with an M-16 then do it.

Honestly though, I don't see this conflict with radical extremists ending anytime soon. If we had to drop the big one on every one of their cities or indiscriminately carpet bomb their cities into rubble turning the desert into glass then let's just get it over with and do it.

I will say that one dirka speaking POS life does not equal the life of 1 American. Even 10,000 don't.

If American Democrats fought the French, would anyone win?

It may just be me but it seems that over the last 2 to 3 weeks the casualties suffered by both US forces and Iraqis seems to have subsided. I know there was one big suicide bombing in a Bahgdad market 2 weeks ago but there's definitely been a decrease in the attacks.

It seems that maybe, just maybe, we've turned the corner and I'm afraid that all of the efforts by the Democrats in Congress to capitulate and throw in the towel will help the insurgency regain some of it's lost willpower.

There's no question that US forces have had to change gears and have had to learn how to fight an insurgency type war but the reports I've been hearing form military family members who have served in Iraq recently indicate these efforts are paying off and that we are winning the war.

Let's hope you're right because this is about the 20th time we've 'turned the corner.'

We need to give Iraq at minimum another year with stepped up pressure- Iraqis have too step up at some point soon. Getting out sooner is a waste of all the time and lives lost fighting this war and is a slap in the face.

We need to have a time table though to set goals around and then execute.

No. Of course not. They're big bad Iraq and have high tech weapons like car bombs and grenade launchers. We're a bunch of wusses who can't beat them in a war because we're illiterate morons with no technology. Ever seen us use a car bomb? Nope. And our soldiers are scared little girls while their fighters are big bad god-like men (and women!) who can kick the butts of any of us who visit this board. They're better than we are in every way, can't you see?

To say we can't win in Iraq is either the height of stupidity or you have a political agenda.

We can easily win in Iraq. If the Dems and CNN will let us FIGHT rather than *****-foot around, we'd be home next month.

In spite of all the spew you read about how we're getting our heads handed to us over there, this has been one of the most successful wars in US history.
We've lost just over 3000 soldiers in 4 years. We lost 6000 soldiers at Iwo Jima in one battle alone in WWII. - a war we understand that we won hands down (could you images the democrats today if they were in office back then?)

But don't repeat that, we wouldn't want to talk about how bad other wars have been compared to this when it makes us all feel self-righteous to point out how our military just plain sucks these days.

If we win, the Republicans win the White House, the House and the Senate in a land slide.

If we lose, the Dems win by a slim margin.

Hence, the Dems efforts to try to ensure failure in Iraq. They are fully aware of what is at stake. If the US doesn't leave the region and we pull up our sleeves and fight, we WILL win. And the Dems would not control the congress or the White House again for another decade.

Yep, why don't you spell out for me what "victory" looks like in Iraq?
