Lines like this make me wonder what kind of crystal ball the folks in Vegas use. I mean a 10 1/2 point line and an 11 point game? Creepy.
I'm not sure how the Vegas oddsmakers pick an opening line, but after that they move the line around until half the incoming bets are on each side of the line, so they maximize their profit regardless of the outcome. So - since I check odds from Vegas, usually - the earlier I post an event the less the Vegas guys have had a chance to adjust their lines.
