So, I guess I'll be going to the injun Riverwind Casino in Norman for NYE and get my gamblin' on.
Anyone else planning to go?
If so, say hello.

I almost stopped there around Christmas with the Mrs. but didn't. That's why I'm still poor.

If you do go, just stay away from people and don't touch anything.

Me, I'll continue to pass by it. I'm really not curious in the least.
Guns & God clinger-to'er.
I'd like to play poker, but I bet the tables are going to be so busy it'll take forever to get a seat. I'll probably be stuck playing some sort of slot machine in blue hair row.
Fun.
I'm taking a couple of cigars with me though; if nothing else they let you smoke cigars on the floor and that's not a bad reason for going.
I would have probably made the NYE trip up there except for two important things...
1) I'm ****ed at poker right now. (Aces pre-flop... and spare me all of the, "I always lose with aces," crap... Great. YOU do. I don't. I know how to bet them.)
I made weak re-raises, trying to show weakness, and this donk kept re-raising me back, buying what I was selling... so I kept re-raising him, acting like I was trying to buy it. Finally I'm like, "all-in," hoping that he thinks I'm bluffing and calls me. He does. AA vs. J/8 off. Yeah. The flop is 9, 7, 10. I f*cking HATE donkeys... Anyway, that's why I finished 3rd instead of winning the tourney I was in tonight. $20 instead of $200. LAME.
2) If I came to Norman, I would catch a ration of sh*t from everybody I know (and was trying to avoid) there if they found out I was in town. I'd rather be alone with Jack Daniels than at a casino with drama. Besides, I still need to stew about that freakin' poker donk that beat me.

I finally played Riverwind this last week. I took $10 off the Indians the first day playing horses. I'll be damed if they didn't get it back plus another $50 to boot the next 2 days I came in.
Had fun anyway. $15 a day over 3 days aint much. I'll give em a big thumbs up for their simulcast horse racing book. I'm not into the blue haired slot machines so can't give a review about that action. Good luck Sic Em, Happy 2007!

Nobody came by and said hello. You all suck.
Maybe no one said hello because YOU are the one who sucks.
Maybe you're both right.
Nope, I'm pretty sure just I am right.Originally Posted by Octavian

I was there. Thanks for the $175.
"Always" and "never" are words that should always be used sparingly and never without forethought. You're welcome.
Sorry, you missed me by an entire day. A buddy of mine was playing in the showroom so I went to hang with him and see the show that night.
Riverwind Poker - There's definitely some good action there if you have the patience to wait it out. The limit game is really hit or miss. The rake is too stiff to be able to beat the game in the long run, but there's always a sh!tload of 1-2 NL games. I've rarely played in the 1-2 where the opportunity to make $$ doesn't come up but you definitely have to be in a position where you can invest the time to set it up. Some of their tourneys are pretty good as well.

How bad is the rake?

Lil and I were there for an hour.
Then it got boring, like every other Indian casino.
3-6 Limit = 1 and 3 blinds, 1-2 NL = 1 and 2 blinds. Little blind is raked BEFORE the hand starts, presumably to help fund the Bad Beat pot. 10% thereafter up to $4.00 max rake. $5.00 per hand is tough to beat over the long haul in 3/6 (imho). Seems that there are tons of folks that don't look at it that way, though. I just stay away from it altogether.Originally Posted by the_ouskull

The Bad Beat jackpots are beyond awesome though. If I had seen this earlier, I work at Riverwind, I could have helped you get a drink from one of our lovely Drink girls
I kept wondering where the hell the drinks where coming from. Everyone seemed to have one, but I couldn't find them anywhere. =(Originally Posted by Gandalf_The_Grey
