say goodbye to Nebraska football for a while

Callahan actually said that he wanted to implement an NFL style passing game at Nebraska. Man are they SKA-REWED.

Does any of this seem familiar? Nabraska is heading down a dark path, I hope they survive it. We damn near didn't.
    I taste terrific.

How long is his contract? I hope it will outlast his implementation.

the nebbish is going to have to have massive juco infusions in order to change to a pro style offense. those people are sooooooooo used to seeing an option attack for the past 35+ years, i don't know if they'll be very patient with it.

this will be interesting to watch.

I hope they stink for a long while..... Nothing against the Huskers though.... just that I don't like Callahan because what he did to my Raiders.
Hope he'll be another Schnellenburger !!

It's going to be very strange as a Big 8/12 fan to see their offense change.

I was talking to a Nebraska fan a year or two ago, and he said, "We (NU) are having a down period like you guys (OU) did in the 90's"

No, brother, you don't know what a down period like we had is, not yet now prepare for revenge from all those tems you ran the score up on, beeyatches.

Well, it makes me happy that we will be able to return the favor the next two years when it comes to all that running up the score they did on us in the 90s. Hell, I hope Stoops and his boys put 80 on 'em next year.

Re: say goodbye to Nebraska football for a while

    OUcharlie,

What do you mean what Callahan did to your Raiders? Your Raider team is full of thugs like Charles Woodsen. Exactly how many interviews did Woodsen do trashing Callahan because he wasn't kissing Woodsen's ***? Exactly what did the players do besides bitch? Callahan didn't do anything to them but lead them to the Super Bowl the year before. If your players weren't a bunch of scum bags and there was some sort of player leadership he'd still be coaching your team and probably be in the playoffs or something. Get rid of your old geysers on the team like Rice and Tim Brown along with Gannon and the other old men and rebuild for cryin out loud. Callahan is good for Nebraska. They have to change their outdated offense sometime and it might as well be a coach that played in a Super Bowl to do it. I don't care if he did do it with Gruden's team. We need the Big XII to be alot better this year. Whether you guys like to hear this or not the Big XII sucked *** this past year and it just needs to get tougher. Callahan will make Nebraska a tougher "win".

If I were a fan of NU, I would NOT be a happy camper right now. Of course, in five years we might all be sitting around here, scratching our heads, as to how wrong we were about the guy.

    So is the fan base.
An integral part of spring training was s**t drills. These drills were for the purpose of running guys off -- making them quit. However, they were not just to force some of us to give up football; they were designed to be part of an experience so devestating that we would be "persuaded" to sign away our scholarships." -- Gary Shaw, describing the s**t drills incorporated by Darrell Royal at the University of Texas.
