I would have posted the album cover but it has naked breasts on it.

Also, with the exception of "Octopus' Garden" Abby Road is a shoe in.

In Utero is a definite for me. I excluded Insesticide b/c I've never been a fan of Downer. Everything else is greatness though...

to me, Abbey Road is the closest the Beatles come to perfection, but like you said, Octopuses Garden kills it.

The b-side to that album is probably my favorite album side ever.

I wouldn't be too hard on Octopus' Garden....the Beatles always had a kind of kid appeal....i'd include that in it. (yeah, i know, sub "kid" for "stoner" if you want).

i personally believe that if you took all the Lennon songs on the White Album and made them one LP, you'd have the greatest rock record ever recorded.

in my all time favorites though.

That puts Willis in pretty good company since he already dissed the likes of Pearl Jam, Nirvana and the Beatles.

I can't believe the first discussion of U2 was on page 6. What songs do you consider skippable Rogue?

If my house/apartment ever burns down, The Joshua Tree is the first CD that I'm grabbing to take with me.

I still think Unforgettable Fire was the best U2 album, War is a close second.

Not that they are "bad" songs, but these are ones that are either skippable or that I don't know very well so long after this album has been in my library and huge (basically since day 1):
    Trip Through Your Wires
    Mother of the Disappeared

I'm not crazy about Red Hill Mining Town or Exit either. RHMT is a solid song, just a taste thing on my part, but if it were the only one I'd definitely put JT on this list myself.

Still, definitely a CD worth saving.

Pixies rock, but I thought stinkers were peppered througout their "discography". Again, a live or greatest hits album by them would own this thread.

    Re: Perfect Albums....

I love U2! I just made a greatest hits cd and I can't fit all my favorites on one cd. I do think every cd they have has a stinky doo on it though. I know I'm gonna get ridiculed for this, but I can listen to every song on this cd without skipping...
