    Firefox 2.0

is due out on Tuesday. I really hope it fixes some of the memory leaks from 1.5. Otherwise, the biggest feature I think that they've added is spell checking built into the browser. Of course, there is probably an extension that does this, so it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, I sort of have mixed feeling about this release. I'll definitely upgrade, but I doubt I'll be wowed.

I'm not going to bother with IE7. I can't imagine a world with no extensions.

Interesting thing: The application bar at the top of my browser window says Firefox 2.0. When I go to help, about Firefox, it says version 1.5.0.7. Strange.

Could it be that's because you're viewing a thread entitled "Firefox 2.0"?

Okay, the font isn't going to be big enough to express how funny I think this is, but:

    HEH

Sometimes I think I drink alot, then I see, like, the Motley Crüe behind the music, and realize I'm a huge *****.

And yeah, most people don't notice the leaks because they open and close their browser. I keep mine open for days though - usually one window for work stuff like previewing html and another window for browsing. Usually after a few days I notice it's using like 500 megs of memory and I have to restart the browser.

Looking around, I think Thunderbird2 is going to be a bit more exciting. It appears they won't release it until December though.

Having multiple labels per email is going to be a big help.

Yeah, I've kept one open for days. I'll look at task manager and it's like what the craphell is going on.

There is some other project that is supposed to combine sunbird and thinderbird called lightning. They have an extension that plugs into Thunderbird that works OK. I don't go to enough meetings to justify needing a calendar up all day. In fact, I hope they always stay seperate.

    So that's the problem . . . I've noticed that a few times myself.

CBS Sportline's home page always crashes my Firefox browser. Don't know what's going on there. I'll upgrade and see if that kink is gone.

That's weird. I'm more apt to have IE crash viewing a page than firefox these days. i've noticed that I rarely come across a page that doesn't work with IE too.
