I'm heading out to Grand Island, Nebraska for HHD which is one of the best farm shows in the Nation. Hopefully I can network for jobs, plus I get to see all sorts of cool stuff. Hopefully it will be dry enough they have the combines going, and I can see the class 8 Gleaner A85 in action. There are few things I enjoy more than a good farm show.

Actually I drove up through Noth Platte on my to Sturgis this year and really enjoyed the scenerery. It is interesting how they let the farmers farm the right of ways up there. Don't they get to keep the hay off of it if they agree to work it?
The state opens right of way's up for haying in dry years. They are probably opened up three years out of ten. The farmers have to bid for sections of right of way to get the hay off of it.

I thought it was just a clever idea to save the state money having to maintane it, adn also give the farmers a little boost.
road hay isn't the best quality in the world. If hay is cheap and plentiful, road hay isn't worth it. So people really only want it in dry years.
