I dig greatest hits albums anyhow, but theirs is great...Wave of Mutilation.
I like the one-word titles for some reason: Velouria, UMASS, Gigantic, and Caribou.

I'm a big fan of Debaser and The Goes Your Man
For the good old American lifestyle: For the money, for the glory, and for the fun... mostly for the money.
Dole, you need these.
Pixies - Come On Pilgrim
Pixies - Bossanova
Frank Black - Frank Black
The Breeders - Last Splash
The Breeders first album, "Pod" is my personal favorite. Tanya Donelly was also in the lineup during that album.
"Teenager Of The Year" is also a ridiculously good Frank Black album.
You really can't go wrong with any Pixies album. There's not a single Pixies song thats less than awesome.

Surfer Rosa and The Breeders Last Splash.
I can still listen to Last Splash and think back to what was going on in my life when it came out.
Doolittle doesn't suck as does the aforementioned, F Black solo.
SoonerinabileneOh sweet jesus. Its like watching the special olympics in high definition on here now.
If you're looking for an overview of the Pixies, check out the double CD, Death to the Pixies. One side is studio, one side is live.
Favorite Pixies songs are as follows:
Planet of Sound, Debaser, Tame, Bone Machine, Gigantic, Dig For Fire, Hey, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Velouria, Gouge Away, Broken Face, Rock Music, Isla de Encanta, Vamos
Not that I don't like the rest of them.
Well you got off to the perfect start. Doolittle and Surfer Rosa are their best all around albums, but you need to go ahead and get every album they have out (Trompe Le Monde, Bossanova, Come on Pilgrim, B-Sides, Death to the Pixies, @ the BBC). I think that covers them all... Do NOT get a best of, b/c you're gauranteed to miss something.
I got fortunate and listened to SR first, got totally hooked, then got Doolittle, and then it was a must for me to get everything they ever did. I've been happy with every album and have no regrets. I'm hoping some day I'll like some of the songs on the other albums that I may not be the biggest fan of right now.
Anyways, there are some extreme moments of greatness on all the other albums, but none of them are as good from start to finish like SR & DL. Here are some of my faves from the other albums. I'm sure I'm missing some, but these are guaranteed to satisfy. GUAR-AN-TEED. (Again, SR & DL are greatness pretty much from start to finish, so no listing of those songs here)
Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons
I've been tired
Caribou
Velouria
UMass
Planet of Sound
Is She Weird
All Over the World
Havalina
Alec Eiffel
Head on
Levitate me
Manta Ray
Into the White
The only solo stuff I have is Last Splash. I'm not sure why I've never got any of the Catholics stuff... but Last Splash is pretty good. It ain't the Pixies, but there are some good songs. "I just wanna get along" is one of the jammingest songs ever recorded. Serious badness.
i had no idea that The Breeders had anything to do with The Pixies... all their stuff i have heard rocks
i'm not so sure what i think about The Pixies... well, i don't turn it off when i hear them
i like Debaser, and Where is my Mind? i really only know them from NCAA 2006 and Fight Club though
Dude....
You can also download their single "Bam Thwok" from any MP3 service.
It's a "new" single they put out a few years ago. It rocks. Hard.
I agree with the above posters.

trippo.
or, i third the agreement. whatever.
"Where is my mind"
Awesome song
The Dude abides.
