In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
i gotta think he didn't think he was going racial. Can't imagine him saying it, if he thought it was racial.(either that, or he subconsciously doesn't want to run for POTUS)
yeah but given where his mom is from and what that means there it is hard to think this wasn't just a fruedian slip.

I was willing to let it slide until he gave his explanation for it.
So, it was either a racist comment or he was calling the kid a monkey. Neither of which is very desirable or admirable.
I'm leaning slightly towards it being racist after he later said, "Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia!"
