Rivals has him not being interested in OU. I hope scout.com is correct.
He is listed 6'4" 232, with a 4.5 second 40 yard dash.
Rivals also has his stats, which look pretty good.

From what I understand, OU wasn't really on his radar screen until the recent sh** with the Idiot. But now there's mutual interest. Haven't heard anything about how they rank in terms of his interest, though...I'm sure those with more recruiting info have a much better handle on it than me.

scout has him at a 4.75 40 and rivals has him at 4.51 40....hmmm just a slight difference there. I hope the latter is true

Terrance Tolliver, the #1 WR, siad that the Newton kid was the best QB at the Florida camp this year and one of, if not, the best QB's he's seen and Tolliver accosted rivals for only having him ranked where he was. He seems to be a pretty good fit for our Offense; the problem is going to be getting him out of SEC country (at least that's what everyone is saying right now).

Yea, but Tebow is all but the annointed savior for you guys. I don't think Newton is too keen on chilling 3 years on the bench, when he can in all likelyhood, enroll in January (like he wants to) and take over the reigns for OU in 2007.
I really like this guy. Looks to be very good. And man do we need to sign him.

ENA's pretty athletic. I think the knock is his throwing ability. If Newton can toss the rock, I like him. If not, well...I heard he's a pretty awesome Safety, too. At least, that's the talk in the ATL metro area. I can't even imagine having a 6-5 FS back there.

I think Newton will be more able to toss the rock than PT....now that's not to say that PT can't throw the ball, but I think Newton might be more developed as far as QB's go. Just my opinion. Probably wrong!

IF, this kid couldn't throw; he might be too big (?) to play safety. Put a few pounds on him, and throw him at DE!
