I've got a lithograph of the 3 living OU heisman winners, its autographed, and needs to be framed
i saw the same thing at "Field of Dreams" framed with a matte that had OU in the lower right hand corner......he said he'd frame it for me but his quote seemed a little atmospheric
anybody know of any places up in the OKC metro area that carries that for framing?
how much did they say they'd frame it for? custom framing's always expensive.

Is the logo cut into the matte? Nice of him to be willing to do that for $220.
You might check Hobby Lobby. They do a decent job of framing and it's usually considerably less than mom and pop shops. If it is cut into the matte, they might not be able to do that. Not sure.
have you taken it to Hobby Lobby? I'm thinking they had an ou matte..don't remember for sure, though.

its part of the matte...its a crushed velvety looking matte with an OU in the corner

JK, it is very expensive to frame anything that doesn't fit in a standard mat & mat or that is more than just a basic mat. Unusual colors, textures, sizes or extra cuts send the cost throught the roof.
Did the OU look like it had been branded into the fabric? I have seen it done with velvet.

most importantly, how big is the item you're wanting to frame? they charge by the square inch, so most of that cost probably isn't due to the special matte. Michaels is good with custom framing also. And a couple times a year they have a sale and the frames are half off

the point WAS, that the guy said it was tough to get the matte, ergo more expensive
so i thought, maybe i might save a buck or two if i got it framed up THERE, where the matte is more common

Until post #9, I thought it was the cardboardy mat you wanted.
So you are interested in the velvety look mat, but the question remains - cut out or branded-look OU? Just so they know which one you really want.

I had to GIS it... never seen a velvet mat. That would probably look pretty cool.
