What they don't show in that video is the other end of the runway - mountains. Scariest place to land or take off, IMO.

Alternatively, they could require all take-offs from that end to be rolling take-offs. IOW, as the plane crosses the holdline and takes to the rwy, they advance the power slooooowly, and then go to military power after they're rolling. If that rwy is short and its hot, they may want every inch of runway and thus they taxi into position and hold, stand on the brakes and pour the coals to it...as it looks like they did in the video. In that case, blastfence is the only thing to keep that beach safe.
