Use a saline nose spray as often as you can.
I take a heating pad, put it on my forehead and cheeks (so I can breath through my mouth) and either sit or lay down (with face toward the ground) for 20 minutes.

Heh. I'm still awake, peeing every fifteen minutes. Suffice to say I have been all over the "plenty of water" thing.
I don't usually get headaches from these - it just makes it so I can't get any air through my nose so every morning I wake up and my throat is sore as hell from being all dried out - usually takes all day to get it back to normal.
At least, that was the case this morning - tomorrow will be much better - I found PG's Afrin. That'll keep my nose open till I wake up, then I can steam my head out with a hot shower and tea.
Oh, and now Blacula is on TVOne, if anyone cares.

Don't OD on Afrin. Follow label directions, for three days max.
I can promise you that the rebound headache is murder.
And using someone else's nasal spray is gross.
The heatingpad will help decrease the swelling and open you up. Sometimes.

I've had a sinus infection for years.
I cleaned the tip of the nasal spray thing with alcohol before using - I'll do the same if and when I return it. Oh, and I know the dangers of Afrin - that's why I only use one spray in one nostril at a time - just enough to breathe.
