The local home guru in Houston, Tom Tynan, recommends them with this caviat...
If you plan on having a whirlpool tub or some other type of large tub or is you have more than 2 or 3 people in your household, you will probably not be happy with tankless heater alone. In these cases, he recommends a tandem system with a gas hot water heater and a backup/auxilliary electric/gas tankless heater to provide that extra support.

I looked into them a little for my dad...I'm thinking you shouldn't get one unless it's the high-end type capable of running two hot water faucets at once...

So they're saying that you have an unlimited supply of hot water, as long as you don't have more than one person in the house or a bath tub. Where do I sign up?
