.....ok...so they have to give him at least 2 years. I say if they dont get to the sweet 16/elite 8 in the next three years they will be calling for his head-(well....they already are.)
I say 4 years at most.

0-6 years.
Probably around 10 years.
You sre joking right?Unless he is much better than .500 in the NCAA he will not last 4 years. Are you forgetting this IS a bakeball school? If a .500 record in the NCAA and only 1 league title in 12 years has you on thin ice at OU it will get you crushed like the Titanic in four years at IU.Originally Posted by NickZeppelin

Personally I am thinking 4 years or less.I think he will have some measure of sucess but fall short of the Knightly goals demanded by the round-ball masses.

I predict 5 or less...
Kelvin is a good fit in the big 10.
From 2000-2005 in the NCAA Tournament Kelvin Sampson was 11-6 with 1 first round exit. If he has a tourney record like that at Indiana he'll be there for 10+ years. Plus the Big 10 is a good fit for his style. I think this next year it'll be tough for Kelvin like it will be for our coach here. I doubt either of em make a tourney run. If OU makes the NCAA Tourney next year it's a great year IMO.
I hope the Big XII coaches underestimate how "capelble" our new coach is too. He will be a great coach for OU.
Kelvin was a damned good one too and if given a chance he will do well and stay at IU as long as he likes. If not then he may suffer the same fate as Blake did here in football.

THANK GOD I'M A SOONER!
Blake earned his own fate by having the first 3 consecutive losing seasons in a row since the 1920's.Originally Posted by SleestakSooner

I would say wait until Capel loses his first lead or has her first scoring drought and the crowd will turn on him, but I am already reading "well if he is more exciting, I might catch a game" Not exactly Dukean type support there.
3 years I don't know why but I hope he has a terrible team.I liked him when he was here, but I sure like the new coach also I just want to when a NC.
If he sucks at IU and gets canned, and our new coach sucks do you think we would take kelvin back?

Mike Davis was at IU for six years, right? He went to the national championship game in 2002, but otherwise I don't think he made a Sweet 16. OK, Kelvin was 9-6 from 2000-2006; an earlier post was an error. He won 8 games at OU while Davis was winning 7 at Indiana (2000-06). I honestly think his fate will be the same. 6 years, more or less, unless the graduation tanks or he has more problems with recruits. The fans will get restless ealrier, but IU administration will hold on to him as long as possible. He is their project.
Correction to my post above: Davis won 7 games in the NCAAs from the '01 to the '06 tourney. Kelvin won 8 games in that time.
Kelvin won 7 games in the Final 4 and Elite 8 years and combined and I know he's won 2 others over Winthrop and Niagra. From the 2000 Tourney to the 05 Tourney Kelvin had 11 wins. There's only few programs with a better record then that.
