    Who is this coach?

This coach has been a head coach for more than 10 years.

As head coach at a smaller mid-major, this coach had seven straight winning records and NCAA and NIT bids.

In four years as head coach at a larger school, this coach failed to meet expectations, although he had a winning season record and post-season tournament on his record.

This coach is NOT Dana Altman.

    Re: Who is this coach?

No extra clues. But the information given sounds suspiciously like Dana freaking Altman, doesn't it?

    But it's not.

OK. One more clue. This coach, just like Dana freaking Altman, has coached at the LNC.

If we are going to stoop to Turgeon, Dana Altman, or even consider Bob Hoffman, why not look at Ray McCallum? Unlike Hoffman at Pan American, he's been head coach at legitimate D-I schools, Ball State and Houston. Yeah, I know, Pan Am, is a "real" D-I school, but its historical mission has always been to be the Washington Generals of college basketball. Also unlike Hoffman, MacCallum has taken his teams in the NCAA tournament and NIT.

I would much rather have a big splash hire. But I would much rather have Ray McCallum or even Hoffman than Dana freaking Altman.
