I don't know of any way to keep them away. I always have a few cans of that wasp killer around though.
yeah, i keep it on hand. I've heard moth balls in the atic will keep them outta there as well,
Those bastiges give me THE WILLIES, big time. I had 6 or so of them sting me pretty much simultaneously, when I was 4 or 5 yrs. old, and I hate the SOB's

I always have cans of wasp killer around. Spray their nest really well and then be prepared to spray any wasps that manage to survive that. Then knock the nest down. That seems to take care of them till the next year.
The wasp killer works, at first I was worried but the wasps usually die within a few seconds of being hit....they never make it anywhere near me alive.
