If any of you can offer input here, I'd appreciate it.
Slickwife's new job, should she get it, will be in downtown Dallas.
Ross Avenue, I believe.
How long of a commute will that be from the suburbs north of Dallas?

FOREVER!!!
"You learn so much from a loss like this," Ash said. "You learn what it takes to play at the level Oklahoma plays."
Depends exactly "where" north. Shortest is realistically probably 45 minutes.
About 15 minutes, if she leaves at 4:30AM and comes home at 9PM.
If she can work off hours, like start at 7:00 am and get off earlier, she may be abel to GET there in 30-45 minutes. Chances are the drive home is always going to be bad. Just some days worse than others.
Mrs. Howzit works downtown and we live in Flower Mound. The thing that saves her is that she is contract and doesn't leave for work until about 8:45 am and leaves to come home about 3:00 pm. Great gig if you can get it.
Of course she also worked at home last night until 1:30 am...

if you're both bringing in big coin, buy a place in highland or university park
The commute anywhere in Oklahoma is much shorter.

I have not been on 75 during rush hour in a while. Is it as bad as it was before they built the High 5?
The Tollway is about 45 during rush hour, although it can be 30 minutes if you get lucky or 60 minutes if you get unlucky. I used to work the phones from my car so I made it productive time.
Oh, and I should say that you do get used to it, kind of.
SlickDawg,
You could always look for housing in Oak Cliff...

I live in Farmers Branch and work in Carrollton, so I go against traffic both ways. That probably doesn't help you much, but it's pretty sweet for me.
