Froze and other EE Bond ****** *******s

In July I'm gonna have a beautiful new nephew. I'm debating between the I (inflation) bonds or the EE bonds. The 'inflation bonds are new to me and you buy them at face value.

    Pros and cons of each?

When the EEs mature the kid can convert them to H bonds can't he? I think that's the only way to obtain an H bond isn't it?

Anyhoo, over 20 years which should be worth more the I or the EE?

    You can.

If you want to set one up for my kids, I would be happy to provide you with the necessary information.

As to the H bonds, yes. EE's mature and you can convert them to H bonds.

As to the better investment, I don't know. Seems like a question for Suzy Oremand.

The beaut is that you still own it. If he turns out to be a ne'er do well, or wants to go to OSU, you can take the money back.

529 all the way. Great advice.

OK, just browsing 529 on google. Do I want to go with the State sponsored or Independant 529? Does me living in Tejas and the kid living in OK and in the future attending OU matter?

Do I have to go through a brokerage house to buy one of these?

Set it up in Texas unless the Oklahoma plan has some sort of an advantage. Compare annual fees and whatnot.
