Iran's president and the "Tehran elite"
Got this link off of Drudge. Sounds like Ahmadinejad is winning some powerful enemies inside Iran.

A good read overall, but this quote at the end was pretty interesting...
Mr. Ghaninejad said that by confronting Iran over its nuclear program, the West was in fact throwing a lifeline to Mr. Ahmadinejad.
"If they keep piling on the pressure, Ahmadinejad will become a national hero," the newspaper editor said.
"Let the Iranians deal with him. If you leave him alone, he will become a bankrupt politician within a year. With greater pressure, only the extremists will benefit."

Yes, turn the other cheek and stick our heads in the sand while the #1 state sponsor of terror acquires the sword of Allah with little or no resistance.
Sounds like a strategy Chamberlain or Carter would be proud of.

Actually, I do think that his confrontation with the West is strengthening his postion, however that is sure as hell NOT justification for not confronting and preventing Iran's aquisition of nuclear weapons.
Honestly, I don't think there is any way around a military strike of Iran. The sooner we get the job done the better.
