A Little help needed please with my comp & printer

I just got this computer at work and I can't get anything to print.

I'm hooked into the innerweb, obviously. The printer is a copier/printer thing that everyone else uses as the printer. I got on one of their machines and got the IP addy for the printer and installed the printer's drivers from the manufacturer's website. Nothing. We are not on a server and our stupid IT department had control of my machine for about 3 hours this morning and nothing. The lady finially gave up and quit I guess.

Do any of you fine people have any ideas or suggestions?

can you not just look at the setup on another computer in the office?

What message, if any, do you get when you print something? Or does it just act like it printed.

Do you have access to the printer location through the network?

we don't really have a network. There is no server. It's my understanding that we print through the internet.

and I get an error message after about a minute that the printer failed to......

this is an IP printer, not a printer shared off of a PC, right?

I created a new port IP_xxx.xxx.x.xx:pORT1 because that's what the other guys had. the P is capitalized but on here : and a P together =
