little 10 year old girl phil had her second gymnastics meet today in wichita.

she's only been in gymnastics for ~ 9 months, and they started her out at the competitive level.

she's a freak of nature. i was no slouch back in the day and her mom was a college cheerleader, but she's mentally tough and physically dominating.

again, this was her SECOND gymnastics meet evar.

vault: 9.6
bars: 9.55
beam: 9.6
floor: 9.3

38.05 = OVERALL CHAMPION in her age. 2nd overall for her level (winner had a 38.15)

SUCK IT WICHITA!

That's really good. USAG is the tougher of the two. Howzit Jr competed USAG for several years and just gave it up this year. It was really hard on her, but it was time.

Prodigies are popping up all over today.

On a similar note, our three-year-old daughter (who had never so much as been on roller skates prior to two weeks ago) went to her second figure skating lesson today, and did a spin.

Years ago, I talked my sons into trying a figure skating class several years ago. The idea being there might be something they could learn to help them with balance during their hockey games. They hadn't been playing very long.
They started in the beginers class, moved straight to the advanced level 3 class and graduated in one hour.
I was taking a beginning class since I wasn't very good at inline skating. I really, really hated it when they would skate circles around me as I skated forward.
