our girls up here are very good. Our guys, not so much.

Our fabulous Tulsa women’s basketball team will have an opportunity to showcase their talent to the nation this Sunday against Tulane University. That’s January 8, at 2:00 p.m. in New Orleans, La. The game is the first nationally televised sporting event in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina hit on August 29, 2005. The game will air on ESPN 2.

Tulsa enters the weekend with 10-2 overall and 1-0 in Conference USA play, and has won four straight games and eight out of its last nine contests. The Hurricane has made appearances on Fox Sports regional broadcasts and numerous locally televised games, but Sunday will mark their first contest in front of a nationally televised audience.

Junior All-America candidate Jillian Robbins is averaging a double-double and leads the team in scoring

(18.3), rebounding (14.9), blocked shots (3.0), steals (1.8), field goals (83) and free throws (53). She is the nation's leading rebounder and 10th-best shot blocker.

If you haven’t seen our women play yet you’ve been missing out. Tune in Sunday and find out why, I guarantee you will be entertained.
