The knee isn't important. If *any* part of his body, other than his hands or feet touches the ground, he's down.
Just looking at that photo it defies belief that *nothing* other than his feet and hands had touched the ground at that point. No way anyone gets slammed to the ground in that position, at that angle, and the *only* thing to hit the turf is his toes. There's just no way.

MAYBE they counted it where it was caught. He clearly didn't have possession though. How can you have possession when someone else has more of the ball than you?
One of the guys from Fox was saying that they "thought" Henderson way laying on someone else, thus, not down, and therefore a TD. But from that picture, I just don't see how that's possible. He was too close to the ground to be on top of someone - shoulda been called down - game over - OU wins.

I heard that too, but the rule is "any part of your body besides feet & hands". There's no way he could've not had some piece of him on the turf at that point.

In the pros, if he's out of bounds for any reason (on his own or pushed by a defender), he is out and cannot be the first to touch the ball. In college, if he is pushed out, he can come back on and catch the ball. If he goes out on his own, he cannot.

I think the refs had been at the same tailgate as the TT fans. I've never seen a stadium full of more foul mouth drunks than I did today.

I'm not going to get into a limbo contest with that dude if his knee wasn't down.
If there was any year to get screwed by the refs this was the one. If this happens again in the future they better go into the witness protection program shortly there after.
