Texas shot 40 percent (29-for-72) from the field while Sam Houston State was held to just 22 percent (12-for-54).
"Ashley has tremendous potential, and we saw that tonight," Texas coach Judy Conradt said. "She runs the floor well, uses her arms and her length to her advantage. She is someone we will count on down the line."
In addition to her career-high 15 points, Lindsey also had five blocked shots.
"Rebounding and tempo were two areas that we needed to do better in and things we talked about since Friday and the loss to New Mexico," Conradt said. "I was proud of our rebounding effort. That was one of our points of emphasis the last few days. This is going to be important that everyone crash the boards."
