Only a red chip?

you gotta be yankin my chain.The DO the other day(Sunday I think) had capsules on the top recruits in OK,Ifound my home boy Josh Johnson RB(5'11 204 sub 4.5 40 )listed as a red chip. He came out of nowhere last year to rush for 1800 yards,16 tds
and nearly seven yards a carry.
He did all this while playing on a Ponca City team (6-5) that was very average. He gained 413 yards against Union(252) and Jenks(161),arguably the two best teams in 6A.He failed to go over 100 yards only once and in that game he had 90 at half but the game was a blowout and he did not play in the 2nd half. Red chip my...eye.

Dunno article said he was considering OU,OSU,KSU ,Purdue, others were listed but I do not recall who.He is at least being recruited if not offerred at this time.One thing that proably on reflection has coaches holding back a little is like I said he came out of nowhere last year, he was not on anybodys radar.If he played offense at all as a so, it was very sparingly.I recall him playing some db then bam there he was last year.To be fair IF he has anywhere near the kinda year this year he had last he will be a hot recruit. He IS already drawing intrest.I just think if he was in the OKC area he would be DO blue chip.He lit up Edmond and Edomd North pretty good last year too( don't happen to recall the stats but do know it was 100+ in both games.

Oklahoma Kickoff the big hs football mag in OK has Josh Johnson tabbed as first team ALL-STATE in Class 6A.

$,55 ain't all that bad and The Coach at Jenks ( name escapes me Trimble?) raves about Johnsons game speed,He says Johnson is THE BEST RB his team faced last year.As far as vertical leap goes this ain't basketball.

5'11 204 is a fb body 4.55 -4.67 is pretty good for a fb /h-back.
