Them and Mannheim Steamroller are both in OKC this year.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Nov 21, Cox Center (All tickets 42.50)
Mannheim Steamroller: Dec 18, Ford Center (30.00-88.00)
42.50? , they were only 27.50 here?Originally Posted by Jimminy Crimson
Still worth the $. It's a blend of Christmas, Blues, Metal, Broadway and Classical, nothing quite like it and in my humble opinion, it is much better than MS but to each his/her own.
OK, I know you are all annoyed that I keep bringing up this topic but I can't tell you enough how much fun this show is and how good the music is. My concert review:
It is the best show I've ever seen and I've seen a buttload of concerts. The special effects are great and come complete with lasers/pyro/fake snow and spooky fog to go with the huge racks of lights. Speaking of racks, the women performers are immensly talented and quite hot, particularly the lead female vocalist. She has an incredible voice and is smokin'.
All the musicians are top notch and have to be to play the music they do. Megadeth/Savatage fans would recognize the lead guitarist as Al Petrelli(sp?). He joins his wife on stage who is a brilliant piano player.
You folks in Texas can still see this show. Give it a chance folks. Take your kids. It would be a great date or family outing but beware, you will have to pick your face up off of the floor cause it will be rawked off.
The show is overwhelmingly good.
You thought I was kidding didn't you? Smokin'? Yes Fugue, I believe she is.

Ok, I'm in.
Fugue I went to TSO's homepage and there is a message concerning the passing of one of the band memebers. Recent thing?
attended last years show in Dallas, Grade A crap. Quite possibly the worst concert I have evAR attended.
yeah, very recent, they have had some tragedy. i think this is the 3rd fairly recent passing away from TSO/Savatage. These people are good folks too, they sign autographs and bs with you after the show.Originally Posted by Howzit
coming from you, that is an endorsement for them.Originally Posted by mrowl

Dang, Fugue, you get a slice of the gate?
I should have. I'm the unpaid SF.com marketing "tool".Originally Posted by Howzit
You know it's weird but you could almost see this whole metal/classical fusion thing coming in the early 80's when Savatage did "Hall of the Mountain King" on one of their albums. After that, each album got closer and closer to TSO.
suddenly, my pants are too small.
I taste terrific.
Fugue drank the Kool-aid!
