1. Oklahoma Sept. 3 vs. Houston (Houston, Texas) Sept. 10 vs. ULM Sept. 17 vs. Ohio State When we last saw Houston and Ohio State, they were dismantling quality opponents in marquee bowl games. The Sooners have the pleasure of squaring off with them in two of the first three weeks of the season. Catching the Buckeyes in Norman is a nice break, but the opener at NRG Stadium effectively means starting the season on Cougar turf. A visit from ULM in between shouldn’t pose much of a threat. -
10. Baylor Sept. 3 vs. Northwestern State Sept. 10 vs. SMU Sept. 17 at Rice This looks familiar: No opponent from a Power Five conference; three games in the state of Texas; three opportunities to rack up gaudy statistics and enter Big 12 play fresh. Hopefully, the rest of the Big 12 will shame Art Briles into stepping his program’s non-conference slate up soon. -
