Unfortunately you are correct Rush. That's why they continue to employ political correctness when dealing with Islam. Conservatism? Not in the least. You see that everyday on what used to be the bastion of tolerance, the promoters of free thought and expression....College Campuses. Where conservatives are routinely shouted down and abused on campus... if they even make it that far. Many scheduled speakers are "disinvited" after demands from the left that they not be allowed on campus. The left does not want conservatives to express themselves, I guess in fear that their message would resonate with a few. All in all pretty sad. If the lefties on here had any standards, they would decry what they see going on today. I will state that their refusal to repudiate this type of intolerance means they agree with it. They love to label anyone not agreeing with their brand of socialism or secular progressivism as "haters". That gives them an excuse to behave like they do.
Reminds me a lot of he brown shirts of Nazi Germany. How they would exert their power over anyone not bowing to the Third Reich.

The difference is the philosophy. The refugee issue is a good example. The paranoia about the far-fetched "if" scenario of a Syrian refugee coming here and acting on behalf of ISIS led to great wailing and knashing of teeth on Fox news and by Trump, Cruz, et al and stirred up significant anti-Muslim commentary. The result of that talk with no real result was that it hurts the status of the US in the mind of people "on the fence". Look at that map. There are plenty of people who don't think we are being part of the solution around the world and part of that opinion is formed by what the talking heads like Trump say. And, they see the result of our involvement around the world that we're not privy to.

Only in your mind and your hero's world could Americans be murdered by Radical Islam and then we all get lectured by our President about anti-Muslim activities and intolerance around the US as if such activities are commonplace. If I am an American Muslim, love this country for what it is, am not a follower of Radical Islam, after the atrocities committed by Isis and others around the world, any negative rhetoric expressed in the US or anywhere else.....would be fully expected. Look no further than GITMO where upwards to 30% of enemy combatants have returned to the battlefield plotting and fighting to kill Americans till their last breath. Hastert is a POS, and is no longer in office and is certainly not running for POTUS. Don't see any conservatives here making excuses for him, so why is so much time spent on him? The GOP has always done a better job culling out the trash than the Dems have.
Amazing how you Dems all of a sudden have moral standards when it comes to a Republican behaving badly. When Dems do the same or worse, it's a different standard.
The Democratic Party has done everything possible to lower the standards of elected officials, as evidenced by someone as morally bankrupted as Hillary Clinton leading the Democratic Party in her quest for the nomination. Can't count the number of times folks on your side have said "I'm not voting for a preacher, I'm voting for President".
Maybe we need a few more "preachers" running for office. Maybe then they wouldn't stand up there and lie through their teeth to get elected and get crappy legislation passed?
