Again, if in fact during the next 9 months or so Dr. Carson proves himself to be a man that stretches the truth, or is deemed a bona fide liar, the Republican Party will vette him out. We do a pretty good job of removing ones that prove to be dishonest, unlike the Democratic Party, which as far as I can determine, # 1 criteria for their support is if he or she can win?
On a rare occasion do the Dems reject a candidate because they somehow don't measure up to their "moral compass". Why else would they gleefully support someone as tawdry and corrupt as Hillary Clinton? Honesty and integrity are not virtues that Democratic Party holds in very high esteem. I think that is pretty evident.

And now we see more of the left on College Campuses, where the First Amendment, more specifically Freedom of Speech is not allowed. Where conservative Professors are not allowed, where conservative speakers....are not welcome. It used to be, that a College Campus, was a place to exchange freely your ideas with others. If you disagreed, then a respectful conversation between the disagreeing parties could be conducted. Where all ideas, values and principles....were all examples of "diversity" and 'tolerance". Not any longer.
And now we have Mizzou, a place where unsubstantiated and unverified acts of racism is met with acts of defiance and demands for the President to step down, or the football team will not play, all without due process or the allowance of a dissenting voice to be heard. Where today, if enough racism cannot be found, you produce the racism so that you can practice civil unrest, insurrection and maybe even a riot or two. Congrats progressives. As this movement takes hold around the country, if you are really efficient at your trade, you might even get yourself a Civil War, kill a few folks, burn down a few buildings. Now that would be progress!!

Second hand information, so Carson supporters do not read - just consider it refuted.
A friend of mine that I trust moved out here from the east coast and was in the elite/rich black society there. Acquaintance of Carson (not a close friend), but friends with several of Carson's friends. After a few conversations with Carson, my friend found him to be odd and asked a few folks who know him better about it. They all thought he was a nut job. Nothing to do with politics or religion, just a bizarre guy with a loose screw up there. This was about 12 years ago, before the national fame. This is something I heard 2 days ago, but I found interesting because that was my first reaction from watching a few of his interviews.
Back to the thread question. Other than his being a DC outsider, I don't understand what people see in Carson.
By all means, please provide us some examples of Carson's actions that led your friend to label Carson "odd", "a nut job" , and "a bizzare guy with a screw loose up there."
Otherwise you and your freine sound like a couple or sorority girls engaged n silly gossip.
