Sounds like he will continue to Rhule the Temple. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) No Rhule at Mizzou.

The enduring image of Oklahoma was that ridiculous double–middle finger of a game-icing kick. It was probably an accident, which somehow made it more, not less, insulting. It was as though Stoops had partied so hard on the corpse of the SEC that he woke up with an unplanned tattoo.
Scott Frost to UCF I think.
Mark Richt is now Miami's head coach

Toledo promoted OC Candle to HC after he originally followed Campbell to ISU.

The same names keep getting tossed around for various jobs, which shows you what a crazy business it is. Latest is that Sonny Dykes and Rich Rodriguez are being eyed by South Carolina. Jeff Tedford may go back to Cal if Dykes moves to Carolina.
My guess: Riley gets an interview but not an offer. Too many head coaches in the mix. SC's last two hires have been proven big name coaches -- Holtz and Spurrier. I just don't see them taking an OC, even if he has previous ties to the region. He's also originally from the Texas Panhandle and one of the main attractions for him was getting to come back and be closer to family.
I'm hoping Stoops can hold the current crew together for three to five years, but who knows?
Looks like Memphis is hiring the Arizona State OC Mike Norvell.
So South Carolina is looking at Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley, former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, Cal coach Sonny Dykes and Rich Rodriguez from Arizona. Four have head coaching experience, and two are more or less offensive whizzes. I still don't see SC hiring Riley, but stranger things have happened.
Nvm Missouri promoted the DC Barry Odom to head coach signed him for 5 years

Methinks in the case of mizzou it was more likely that they were unable to even get an interview with any head or former head coach and had to go the assistant promotion route.
They had interviews with coaches they just decided to go low risk in hopes of high reward
Among the candidates in the region Rhoades is believed to have interviewed: Air Force coach Troy Calhoun; Utah State coach Matt Wells; and Colorado State coach Mike Bobo. But a fourth candidate from outside the Rocky Mountain area is meeting with Rhoades in Denver on Tuesday, according to sources: California coach Sonny Dykes.

The U sportin' the Adidias unis... good for them.
Latest rumor has Odom (new coach at Mizzou) interested in hiring Josh Heupel away from Utah State.
Ruffin McNeil is out as head coach at East Carolina, Riley's old school. Every coach quoted so far seems shocked by the news and expressed doubts that Riley would be a candidate. He and McNeil are very close and probably wouldn't take the post if offered.
Muschamp to South Carolina looking like a done deal too.
Bronco Mendenhall (BYU) took the Virginia job...
