Are the Big 12 over/under win predictions accurate?

CG Technology this week became the first Nevada sportsbook to release college football win totals, not including postseason:

Baylor 10, TCU 10, Oklahoma 8.5, Oklahoma State 7.5, West Virginia 7.5, Kansas State 7, Texas 6, Texas Tech 5.5, Iowa State 3, Kansas 1.5.

Which ones do you pick the overs for? Poll away...

Re: Are the Big 12 over/under win predictions accurate?

    My votes:
    I don't think Baylor has a 10+ win quarterback.
TCU is ready to make the rest of us mad as hell again.
    I'm eternally optimistic about OU.
I'm eternally pessimistic about OSU. Same with West Virginia. KSU can't Bill Snyder to victory forever.
Texas and Tech both have really low expectations but have the potential to surprise so sure why not.
ISU and KU stink but do they really stink to the tune of 3 and 1.5? I say they stink less than 3 and 1.5.

I take it this includes OOC games. If so, then Kansas will be over.

Yes it includes the entire regular season, but not potential bowl games nor playoff games.

Kansas is not sucking for lack of effort. They're spending money on coaches, both new ones and fired ones! Lots of money!

Kansas State has three gimmies to open, as usual: South Dakota State, UTSA, and Louisiana Tech. Surprisingly, though, the UTSA game is in San Antonio.

Kansas State gets Baylor, Oklahoma, and TCU at home. I think they get to seven wins pretty easily. And, as is the case in most years with Snyder, they will be in the conference title hunt in November. Doesn't matter how the roster turns over, the man knows how to coach.

While I fully expect him to be on IR at some point this season, because that's what Poke starting QBs do, they were able to retain one of their previous starters from the inevitable transfer to Big Ten school syndrome that Poke benched QBs suffer. Hell, OSU might have Maryland's and Illinois' starter next season.

    8-10 wins for us.
I don't think they would call you a traitor if you gave us some clues about your present QB situation. RG3 and Bryce Petty are gone. Who's next?

Don't take UTSA lightly ever. I know their coach only won it all at Miami because he had Butch's players but they've put up fights against the big boys for the past few seasons. Unless KSU found another Lockett sibling/son, another Calvin Klein or a few dozen jucos... dooooom

Seth Russell will almost certainly be the starter, at least at the beginning of the season. It's hard to know much since, by and large he's only had mop up duty. He did start a couple of games after Petty got injured. He was great in one and a mixed-bag in the other. He made mistakes, but they were mistakes that I would think would be corrected with experience.

Of course, if he's a disaster, we always have Stidham.

Sorry SicEm, but this is why you're gonna be on the "under" side of 10 wins... not that I mind, as one of those losses is likely OU and I'm sick of losing to ya

This year's the exception for KSU as far as OOC's go. They've had home & homes with UCLA, Miami, & Auburn (should've beaten them last year) in the last 6 years, so they've stepped up.

The chief creampuff offenders have been Tech (Arky last year was the first P5 OOC they've played since 2003) & Baylor (although it does look like they're starting to see the light on this subject.

Oh, & speaking of BU, I'll believe they'll struggle with their QB situation when I see it in real time. It's never happened in Briles' HC career with the exception of '09, & that was only because RG3 got hurt early & they had to throw Florence into the fire well ahead of schedule.

I would not be surprised if KU's 1.5 got raised before we got to the season opener. Those jay jays might have finally found a head coach that isn't an overrated has-been overpaid front-butt, mid-major... um... anything else to describe Charlie Weis or Turner Gill?
