    Re: Sooner Magic

The first two that came to mind were in the same year. That comeback win vs Nebraska and closing out the Aggies in 2000. I guess it sorta depends on how you define sooner magic.

We weren't really sure we were "back" at the kickoff of that Nebraska game. When they went up 14-0 in the first quarter, there was a lot of tension in the stadium. A friend of mine who was a Nebraska fan was watching on tv at home and decided that there was no way we'd come back, so she switched off the game and went to bed early. The next morning, she actually called me to talk smack about the game. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed that phone call. Linking the game here, as I can only post 1 video.

The second one is more of one of those moments - not really an entire game. We were at College Station and it was a very close game. We spent 3 quarters trailing and while we exploded for 22 points in the 4th, with time ticking down, A&M still had the lead and was driving on our defense. Then out of nowhere, we come up with a pick six and turn the score in our favor, saving our first perfect season in forever.

The enduring image of Oklahoma was that ridiculous double–middle finger of a game-icing kick. It was probably an accident, which somehow made it more, not less, insulting. It was as though Stoops had partied so hard on the corpse of the SEC that he woke up with an unplanned tattoo.

Sooner Girl in Eugene, my husband and I went to the Texas A&M and sat in the north end zone with all of the Aggie fans. Watching Torrence Marshall run that interception back was TRUE MAGIC! Josh never lost his poise in that game. What's it like being in Duck country?

I remember sitting in a corner of Kyle Field surrounded by rabid Aggieness down two touchdowns in 2004, wondering what the hell happened to the guys that clobbered them 77-0 in Norman the season before. Aggieness was especially rabid because we accidentally started "Boomer Sooner" as our team ran out during their alma mater. We stopped in the middle before Aggieness could kill us.

Anyways, Coach Fran Fran had faked a FG to touchdown and faked a punt to touchdown, so we were down two scores on the road in one of the worst places to be in the Big 12 and somehow, miraculously, we come back. How in the hell did we win 42-35 that day? It had to be Sooner Magic

Nothing was more magic than the onside kick that wasn't supposed to be an onside kick ricocheting off Chris Rockins helmet in 1983. Scott Case, who had fumbled away two punts to put Oklahoma in the hole, recovered the ball. A few plays later, Tim Lasher kicked the game winning field goal.

It's pretty. As for the Duck fans? They are pretty good people. A small sandbar in a sea of West Coast apathy.

OB against FreeShoesU in the late 70's or early 80's. Best hook and lateral, ever!

I was at that game in the end zone corner behind that third quarter kickoff. The shadow was really bad in front of the end zone and before the kick I told my daughter that if they kick it over here the kid will never see it. Sure enough!

1975? I heard it on radio, and was exhausted at the end of the game.
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.

    Re: Sooner Magic

Quite frankly every trip down to College Station takes Sooner Magic, so good riddance to those Big 12 traitors

I wasn't at the game, but I recall Paul Thompson lining up in backfield on 4th down and short deep in the 4th quarter, deep in our own territory. Bob Stoops decided after looking at his team that he wasn't going to punt to Aggie, he was going to go for the 1st down.

And while we would have made it, Texas A&M ensured our victory by having... a 12th man on defense.

    Aggie gonna Aggie
