My example I always go back to is Matt Ryan.. His last season at BC, he threw 19 INTs(2nd in the country), had a completion percentage in the 50s, was ranked in the 60s in qb rating, and was the 3rd overall pick. In the meantime, you had Colt Brennan and Graham Harrell who beat Ryan in every category receive little NFL attention.

Ryan played in a NFL type system, so teams new exactly what they were getting..They knew he could make the 4-5 throws they wanted, and he was 6'4, 220lbs..

Or Matthew Stafford who had a terrible final season at Georgia in most categories..But he had a strong arm to make those same throws.

Games played and wins mean something to some of the coaches..Especially among the old school guys.
