Crystal Football College Football Playoff Magic Number

    Obviously, 4 teams isn't it.
8 teams gives you 2 layers of playoffs and a championship, maybe just right?
16 teams is a minimum of 4 weeks long, but could replace at least one week of bad non-conference games, bye weeks, or conference championship games.

You mean instituting a playoff for college football wasn't the panacea that all the simpletons, whose main argument seemed to be that all other sports had it, claimed it would be?

    Hmmmmmm, what a surprise.

Yes lets have 8-16 teams where everyone rests their starters during rivalry week.

    8 team playoff
    P5 Champs + 3 At-Large Bids.

Nobody would be resting their starters during rivalry week because many teams would, presumably, still be playing for a spot in their CCG. And, if they already have the slot secure, who cares if they rest some of their starters?

I agree with the teams - this is how I would do it - first you take each champion from the power conferences (via a championship game (this would require the Big XII to add two teams and also play a conference championship)). Then you take 4 at large teams 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 and so on. You only add 1 week to the playoff schedule. Right now, legitimately if you are team 5 or 6 you might have an argument for being in the playoffs, but if you are the 9th or 10th best team, well you should have simply played better.

Sicem's right 5 conference champs and 3 at large, I dropped the ACC out of the equation, must have been my hatred for FSU!!
