Oklahoma will be without starting quarterback Trevor Knight against Texas Tech on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Cody Thomas will make his first career start in Knight’s place. . @OU_CoachStoops confirms QB Trevor Knight not medically cleared to play on Sat. QB Cody Thomas to start at Texas Tech for #Sooners . — Oklahoma Football (@OU_Football) November 13, 2014 Stoops said earlier in the week that Knight, a redshirt sophomore, did not have a concussion and that both an MRI and X-rays on Knight were negative. Still, Knight has not practiced throughout the week and after being reevaluated Thursday, the decision was made to hold him out of Saturday’s game against the Red Raiders in Lubbock. Knight has started all nine games this season for the 6-3 Sooners, throwing for 2,197 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also has 340 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. In limited action this season, Thomas is 7-of-16 for 50 yards and one interception. He’s also run for 25 yards on four attempts. He has a favorable matchup against a Texas Tech (3-6, 1-5 Big 12) defense that allows 41.6 points per game.
